Technology has advanced significantly in the past decade in the IOL space. In both the monofocal and presbyopia correcting space there are more available options for your patients. Our patients are undergoing surgery earlier, more active and living longer than they were before. As the primary care practitioner it is important to understand the options your patients will be presented with when going to the surgeon for their consult. This talk will go through the technological advancements in the IOL space, the optics of the lens platform as well as design changes which lead us to the current lens technology available to your patients today.

Attendees will develop a conceptual awareness of the relationship between sex hormones and ocular health, including their influence on the ocular surface, retina, and tear film, and the theoretical basis for considering biological sex in dry eye, AMD, and glaucoma.
